About

My PhD thus far has been concerned with tracing the development of archaeological theory over the past 25 years or so, with specific research emphasis being placed on the heuristic benefits our discipline has secured from its more explicit philosophical commitments. More specifically going forward, I am interested in how these philosophical commitments (concept formations) manifest themselves in our discursive practices (language use) and thereby delimit how we negotiate and realise our prefered epistemological and hermeneutical approaches to the disciplinarity of archaeology. I'm particularly interested in what Ludwig Wittgenstein and his expositors have to offer in this regard.
